Christmas Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies

Equipment

  • baking pan
  • mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • seedless raspberry or currant jelly or jam

Instructions

  • cream butter and sugar until fluffy
  • add remaining ingredients except jelly/jam
  • chill awhile (the mixture that is)
  • drop by teaspoon on a lightly greased baking pan
  • make a an indentation in the center of each cookie and fill w/ a dab of jelly/jam
  • bake for 10 - 12 minutes
